Welcome to The Firs Care Home, a privately owned residential care home located in Barnsley which provides care for those with residential or day care needs. We offer high quality residential care delivered by a team of dedicated and professional staff. Here we can accommodate up to 33 people with rooms which are decorated with modern and bright furnishings. The home is all on one level to ease any mobility problems.
Here at The Firs we understand the importance of choice and independence. We have ample space to organise activities, large communal areas, a hairdressing salon and a quiet library where we encourage our service users to be as active as possible.

WHAT WE DO
Our food
Our cook prides herself on knowing the tastes of the service users providing a menu which is changed seasonally. A choice of snacks and refreshments is always available throughout the day. There are several choices at mealtimes with home cooked and locally sourced adaptable for special diets.
Activities
We have our own dedicated activity coordinator who provides a range of activities in collaboration with the service user's interests and hobbies to help maintain their independence.

Our professional care team will work with each service user, with the support, where appropriate, of their loved-ones, to develop an individual personal care plan. This personal care plan underpins all the care we provide, so service users can be confident that they are always treated with respect and dignity.
To ensure that our staff, service users and their loved ones can be confident in the care we deliver, we have 6 core values of care which underpin a number of aims and objectives that, together, set the standards we strive to achieve in providing our service users with a comfortable, safe and fulfilling place to live.
